Mars

Mars is the subject of the Curiosity (rover) mission, with the discovery of boxwork formations providing new insights into its ancient groundwater history and the potential for past microbial life. The planet's geological features are central to the scientific investigation.

Mars was directly hit by a powerful solar storm, one of the strongest recorded in over two decades. This event caused radiation levels to spike and its upper atmosphere to fill with charged particles, leading to significant changes in its atmospheric electron density.

Mars, while still a long-term ambition for SpaceX, has been de-prioritized in favor of the Moon for initial colonization efforts. SpaceX still aims to begin building a city on Mars within five to seven years, but the immediate focus has shifted.
