Shoukat Bakshi, a close confidant of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik, was identified by an eyewitness in a special court as one of the shooters involved in the January 1990 terror attack on India===Indian Air Force personnel in India===Srinagar. This development follows the identification of Yasin Malik as the main shooter in January 2024. The attack resulted in the deaths of four India===Indian Air Force personnel, including squadron leader Ravi Khanna, and injured 40 others. A charge sheet was filed in 1990 against Malik, Bakshi, and five other Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front operatives. Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General and Senior Public Prosecutor for the India===Central Bureau of Investigation, is representing the central agency in the case. Yasin Malik is currently serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to criminal conspiracy against the state in May 2022.
