India Increases Telecom Ministry Budget for BSNL

The government of India has proposed a significant increase in the budget outlay for the India===Ministry of Communications (India) to ₹73,990 crore. This substantial rise, nearly 40% from the previous year's revised estimate, is primarily driven by a capital infusion for the state-run telecom firm Government of India===BSNL. The funds are earmarked for various projects, including Bharat Broadband Network, a rural broadband initiative, and to cover Government of India===BSNL's capital requirements such as spectrum costs, network rollout, and internal operational needs. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening Government of India===BSNL and expanding its services. Additionally, there's a notable increase in allocation for the Development of the India===North East Region (India), focusing on urbanization, e-buses, Buddhist circuits, health, and education.
