The Nigeria===Enugu State Police Command successfully busted a transnational human trafficking syndicate for prostitution. Operatives, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a 50-year-old female suspect and rescued a 20-year-old female victim on January 16. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, a native of Nigeria===Abia State, was deceived into resigning from her job with the promise of a lucrative opportunity in Senegal, which turned out to be prostitution. The suspect allegedly took the victim to a shrine in Alor-Agu Community to swear an oath of allegiance before the planned trafficking to Senegal. The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure all persons connected with the crime are brought to justice. Daniel Ndukwe, the Command's Spokesman, reiterated the commitment to combating human trafficking and urged public cooperation.
