NTPC Limited===NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, and Assago Industries have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish India's first large-scale Green Urea production ecosystem. This initiative will be located within the upcoming Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, India===Andhra Pradesh. Under the MoU, NTPC Limited===NTPC Green Energy Limited will provide Green Ammonia, CO₂, and renewable power to Assago Industries, enabling the production of Green Urea using clean feedstock. This partnership aims to significantly reduce India's reliance on imported urea, which currently accounts for 8-10 million tonnes of its 35-40 million tonnes annual consumption. The project aligns with India's 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' vision, promoting self-reliance, large-scale decarbonization, and boosting India===Andhra Pradesh's Green Hydrogen Corridor. Assago Industries will be among the first private companies in India to produce Green Urea at scale, marking a pioneering step in sustainable fertilizer manufacturing.
