India===Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar has dismissed disqualification petitions filed by the India===Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) against 10 of its MLAs, including Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari. The BRS had accused these MLAs of defecting to the ruling India===Indian National Congress and sitting on the Treasury Benches. However, the Speaker ruled that the petitioners failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove defection, thus making the Anti-Defection Act inapplicable. This decision follows a directive from the India===Supreme Court of India, which had given the Speaker a final opportunity to resolve these petitions.
