Airbus has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for aerospace studies at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. This initiative marks a significant step in the long-term collaboration between Airbus and GSV to bolster India's aerospace ecosystem through research, innovation, and talent development. A primary focus of the CoE will be R&D into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and supporting student-led innovations in future aerospace technologies, particularly converting Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) into SAF. The partnership also includes a scholarship program for 45 students, with one-third reserved for women, and the establishment of an Airbus Chair Professor for Aerospace Studies at GSV. Key figures like Jürgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, and Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of GSV, were present at the inauguration. This collaboration aligns with the Government of India's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision and the 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' agenda.
