Senator Condemns Kwara, Benue Killings

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has vehemently condemned recent violent attacks in Nigeria===Kwara State and Nigeria===Benue State, describing them as unacceptable and deeply troubling. The attacks, including one in Kaiama Local Government Area of Nigeria===Kwara State that killed 75 people, highlight a severe and persistent insecurity issue across Nigeria. Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on federal and state authorities to move beyond rhetoric and implement coordinated, effective measures to curb the rising tide of violence, emphasizing the need for swift investigations and accountability. Amnesty International has also criticized the Nigerian authorities for their failure to protect lives and property, noting an alarming escalation of killings and abductions. The senator stressed that continued bloodshed threatens national peace and stability, urging for proactive intelligence gathering, community engagement, and strengthened security operations to address the root causes of violence.
