This collaboration is expected to positively impact the semiconductor and information technology markets by addressing critical connectivity bottlenecks in AI data centers. The development of more efficient interconnects by Point2 Technology, validated by Keysight, could lead to advancements in AI infrastructure and increased demand for related testing solutions.
Keysight and Point2 Technology have announced a strategic collaboration to validate next-generation, multi-terabit interconnects. This partnership aims to eliminate scale-up connectivity bottlenecks in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) data centers. Keysight is providing its high-speed digital test solutions, including the M8050A High-Performance Bit Error Ratio Tester (BERT) and DCA-X Sampling Oscilloscopes, to validate Point2 Technology's power-efficient e-Tube interconnect technology. Point2 Technology's e-Tube technology uses RF data transmission over plastic waveguide, offering up to 10 times longer reach than traditional copper at comparable cost, while being 3 times lower in power and cost, and 1,000 times lower in latency compared to optics. This collaboration is crucial for meeting the stringent performance and reliability requirements of hyperscaler AI infrastructure and accelerating the development of 3.2T interfaces.
