Kashmiri Vendors Attacked in Uttarakhand

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chief cleric of India===Jammu and Kashmir, expressed deep concern over the brutal assault on two Kashmiri shawl vendors, Tabish and Danish, in India===Uttarakhand's Vikas Nagar area. He highlighted a disturbing pattern of communal profiling and hostility faced by Kashmiris, with similar incidents reported in India===Haryana and India===Himachal Pradesh. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged authorities to take concrete steps to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris living and working outside India===Jammu and Kashmir. He also raised concerns about a police profiling exercise in the Valley, which seeks extensive information about mosques and their management, a matter that the Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema also found disconcerting.
