Uttarakhand Transfers Hospitals to Medical Colleges

The India===Uttarakhand government, under the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has ordered the transfer of Jawaharlal Nehru District Hospital, Rudrapur, and B.D. Pandey District Hospital and Women s Hospital, Pithoragarh, to the India===Department of Medical Education, Uttarakhand. This move aims to ensure the smooth functioning of Pandit Ramsumer Shukla Government Medical College, Rudrapur, and Government Medical College, Pithoragarh. Sachin Kurve, Secretary of Medical Health and Medical Education, issued the official memorandum. Previously, these hospitals were under the control of the India===Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand. The administrative and financial control will now rest with the respective principals/directors of the medical colleges. The India===Department of Medical Education, Uttarakhand, will ensure the availability of necessary equipment and medicines. Salaries for current staff will be paid by the Medical Health Department for one year, after which the medical units will be fully operated by the India===Department of Medical Education, Uttarakhand. Additionally, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed various state schemes focused on employment and skill development.
