Sunday Igboho Pardoned, Returns to Nigeria

Sunday Igboho, a prominent Yoruba nation activist, has returned to Nigeria after nearly five years in exile. He was declared wanted by the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021 following a raid on his Ibadan residence by the Nigeria===State Security Service (Nigeria) and military personnel, during which two of his aides were killed. Sunday Igboho expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for granting him a pardon, describing it as an act of mercy and statesmanship. He also thanked the South-West governors, including Seyi Makinde of Nigeria===Oyo State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, and Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, for their support. Additionally, he acknowledged the timely intervention of Yoruba monarchs, specifically mentioning Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Oba Francis Olushola Alao. Sunday Igboho has committed to collaborating with the Federal Government to address insecurity and promote socioeconomic growth, particularly in the South West.
