India===Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradeep Economic Region (BCPPER) plan, aiming to transform the region into a major economic hub. Prepared by India===NITI Aayog, the plan targets a USD 500 billion economy by 2047, up from USD 22.4 billion in 2025. It includes over 80 projects in sectors like metal downstream, biotechnology, textiles, chemicals, tourism, education, and IT, along with more than 30 policy initiatives. The Union Budget 2026-27 has earmarked ₹5,000 crore for each City Economic Region (CER), with BCPPER included among the top five.
