The European Union has concluded a three-year digital skills promotion program in Borno and Nigeria===Yobe States, Nigeria, aimed at reducing the digital gender divide and digital exclusion among women, hard-to-reach youth, and persons with disabilities. Funded with €750,000 by the European Union and implemented by ZOA International from 2023 to 2026, the program trained 18,193 individuals, established 32 IT hubs, and equipped six schools with IT services. The closing ceremony, attended by representatives including Massimo De Luca from the European Union and Godwin Dominic from ZOA International, highlighted the program's success in empowering communities and strengthening local institutions. The Nigeria===Borno State Government, represented by Mohammed Kabir Wanori, commended the initiative for complementing state development priorities. Partners have committed to sustaining the digital infrastructure and capacity built, with a focus on translating digital skills into economic value, job creation, and entrepreneurship in North-East Nigeria.
