The Nigeria===Kogi State Government, led by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered the temporary closure of selected markets and motor parks across seven Local Government Areas in the Kogi West Senatorial District. This directive, announced by Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo, is a strategic measure to intensify and coordinate security operations in collaboration with the Nigeria===Office of the National Security Adviser and other security agencies. The aim is to disrupt the logistics and supply chains of terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements operating within the state, denying them access to food supplies and support. The affected areas include Lokoja, Kabba-Bunu, Yagba West, Yagba East, Kogi, Mopamuro, and Ijumu LGAs. The government emphasized that the closures are strictly temporary and will be lifted upon the successful conclusion of the security operations, which have already resulted in the rescue of 16 kidnapped victims.
