Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Patrick Herminie of Seychelles held a joint press conference in New Delhi, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations. During the meeting, India welcomed Seychelles as a full-time member of the Colombo Security Conclave, emphasizing strengthened defence and maritime cooperation. PM Modi announced a special economic package of $175 million from India to support various projects in Seychelles, including social housing, e-mobility, vocational training, health, defence, and maritime security. Both nations also signed several agreements and MoUs covering pharmacopoeial cooperation, cultural exchange programs, digital transformation, and food procurement between National Cooperative Exports Limited and Seychelles Trading Corporation. The leaders also discussed expanding cooperation in renewable energy, resilience, and climate-adaptive solutions, aiming to shape a shared future for the Indian Ocean.
