NAHCON Chairman Abdullahi Saleh Usman Resigns Amidst Allegations, Ismail Abba Yusuf Nominated

Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman has resigned as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria===National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), citing personal reasons. His resignation, however, followed a petition from 11 NAHCON board members to President Bola Tinubu, accusing Abdullahi Saleh Usman of financial indiscipline, lack of transparency, and awarding contracts beyond board and budget limits, in violation of the Nigeria===Bureau of Public Procurement Act. The Nigeria===Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is also investigating Abdullahi Saleh Usman. Vice President Kashim Shettima had previously intervened to address the internal crisis within NAHCON. Following Abdullahi Saleh Usman's resignation, President Bola Tinubu nominated Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, a seasoned diplomat, as the new Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, pending confirmation by the Nigeria===Senate of Nigeria. This marks the third leadership change for NAHCON under Bola Tinubu's presidency.
