WiseTech Global and Hapag-Lloyd IoT Trial

WiseTech Global and Hapag-Lloyd are conducting a trial to integrate Internet of Things (IoT) technology for real-time global container visibility, tracking, and data collection. Hapag-Lloyd has already equipped its 2 million container fleet with smart devices that transmit location updates to WiseTech Global's platforms. The pilot aims to process millions of data points daily, applying advanced algorithms to transform IoT data into meaningful milestones and products. This will enable WiseTech Global to distribute location and positioning data to Hapag-Lloyd's customers via channels like WiseTech Global===CargoWise Cargo Tracker. The collaboration seeks to provide highly accurate, real-time insights on container positioning, transit conditions, and arrival predictions, including a dynamic estimated time of arrival (Live ETA) that adjusts based on actual movement. This initiative is expected to improve delivery time accuracy by 75% compared to traditional static schedule predictions for shipments managed by Hapag-Lloyd from port to customer location.
