DayOne Data Centers, a Singapore-headquartered global hyperscale data center platform, announced the establishment of a regional operations and training center in Malaysia===Johor and the expansion of its Global Shared Services Center (GSSC) in Malaysia===Kuala Lumpur. This move reinforces Malaysia's role as a core operational hub within DayOne Data Centers' Asia-Pacific platform. The Malaysia===Johor facility will train over 1,000 data center operations engineers, focusing on AI-ready infrastructure management and operational resilience. The Malaysia===Kuala Lumpur GSSC, entering Phase II, is expected to employ more than 200 local professionals, supporting DayOne Data Centers' global operations. DayOne Data Centers has invested over RM14 billion in Malaysia since 2022, with a further RM67 billion planned over the next two years, bringing total investment to over RM81 billion. This expansion is projected to increase direct employment to about 1,500 by 2026 and support an estimated 4,000 additional jobs through local procurement.
