Labor Secretary's Husband Accused of Sexual Assault

Shawn DeRemer, husband of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, has been accused by at least two female staff members of sexual assault at the United States===United States Department of Labor headquarters. He has been barred from the building, and the United States===Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia has launched a criminal investigation into the incidents, one of which was reportedly captured on security cameras. These allegations come amidst a separate internal investigation by the United States===United States Department of Labor's inspector general into alleged misconduct by Lori Chavez-DeRemer and her senior staff, including claims of an inappropriate relationship with a security detail member, drinking during work hours, and travel fraud. Lori Chavez-DeRemer's chief of staff, Jihun Han, and deputy chief of staff, Rebecca Wright, have been placed on administrative leave.
