Tata Group, through its subsidiary Tata Group===Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced a multi-dimensional strategic partnership with OpenAI. This collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption across enterprises, consumers, and social sectors in India and globally. A key component is the development of AI infrastructure, with OpenAI becoming the first customer of TCS' HyperVault AI Data Center, committing to 100 megawatts (MW) of AI capacity, scalable to 1 gigawatt (GW). The project is part of OpenAI's Stargate initiative. The partnership also includes deploying ChatGPT Enterprise across Tata Group companies, co-developing industry-specific agentic AI solutions, and launching joint go-to-market initiatives for Indian and global enterprises. Additionally, the OpenAI Foundation and TCS will collaborate on AI skilling initiatives for Indian youth, aiming to impact one million young people.
