Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for the Sri Shankaracharya Temple in India===Katra, India===Jammu and Kashmir, a project envisioned since the 1960s. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will fully bear the Rs. 31.51 crore expenditure and construct 50 commercial shops for landowners who donated 41 Kanals of land. The temple is expected to become a spiritual anchor, attracting millions of devotees and generating economic momentum, employment, and strengthening local businesses. The Shrine Board also announced plans to increase annual procurement of Puja Samagri and Prasad from Self-Help Groups from Rs. 5 crore to Rs. 12 crore immediately, with a target of Rs. 50 crore in coming years, benefiting around 1,500 women in India===Reasi district, India===Udhampur district, and India===Jammu district. Additionally, the Gurukul initiative will nurture youth in Vedic education.
