The Nigeria===Lagos State Government has reaffirmed health security as a core legacy agenda, intensifying its digital-driven approach to malaria and tuberculosis elimination. This initiative, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Commissioner for Health Akin Abayomi, involves digitising 514 private healthcare providers and has resulted in a malaria positivity rate of five per cent. Partnerships, such as with Maisha Meds, have transformed community pharmacies into digitised service nodes, enabling over 80,000 diagnostic tests. The state is also deploying the PlusLife MiniDock for tuberculosis diagnosis and implementing broader reforms including infrastructure upgrades and the establishment of a University of Medicine and Health Sciences. The goal is to build sustainable, data-driven health systems and reduce the prevalence of these diseases.
