L&T and NVIDIA Form AI Infrastructure Venture in India

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and NVIDIA have announced a joint venture under the IndiaAI Mission to build sovereign, scalable gigawatt-scale AI factory infrastructure in India. This partnership will integrate L&T's engineering and infrastructure development expertise with NVIDIA's advanced AI infrastructure, including GPUs, CPUs, and networking. The venture aims to support the creation of sovereign AI infrastructure, allowing critical data, models, and AI workloads to be built, trained, and deployed within India while remaining interoperable with global ecosystems. Initial plans include scaling NVIDIA GPU cluster deployment at L&T's Chennai data center to 30 MW capacity and at a new 40 MW data center in Mumbai. The initiative is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to democratize AI access and position India as a global hub for digital infrastructure, serving both domestic requirements and global hyperscalers across sectors like manufacturing, energy, financial services, healthcare, and public services.
