DRDO Chairman Visits SRM University-AP for Defense Research Collaboration

Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of India===Defence Research and Development Organisation, visited SRM University, Andhra Pradesh to foster a collaborative ecosystem for national defense technology and research. He emphasized the need for rapid development and deployment of new technologies within three to five years, with academia focusing on preliminary development and industry on deployment. During the visit, faculty members of SRM University, Andhra Pradesh discussed their ongoing research in Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies and Computing, and Green Hydrogen. Samir V. Kamat particularly lauded research on Accelerated Materials Development, Quantum Navigation Systems, and sensors for extreme conditions. He advised SRM University, Andhra Pradesh to collaborate closely with specialized India===Defence Research and Development Organisation laboratories to advance its initiatives, highlighting the critical role of universities in achieving India's technology leadership and self-reliance.
