Access Bank Plc has launched its Zero-Fee Outbound Campaign, an initiative designed to drive the adoption of the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) through its Access Africa platform. Running from February 1 to April 30, 2026, the campaign allows customers in Nigeria to send money in Nigeria===Nigerian naira to other African countries with beneficiaries receiving funds in their local currencies, all at zero outbound transfer cost. This move aims to lower barriers to cross-border payments, benefiting individuals, students, and small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) by eliminating high fees and currency conversion challenges. Aminat Olatunji, Unit Head, Remittances at Access Bank, highlighted that the campaign focuses on simplifying African payments and building confidence in PAPSS. The initiative aligns with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework, promoting financial integration and reducing reliance on foreign intermediary currencies.
