Judge Orders Return of Deported Babson Student

A federal judge in Boston, Richard Stearns, has ordered the return of 19-year-old Babson College freshman Ana Lucia Lopez Bello to the United States within two weeks. Lopez Belloza was mistakenly deported to Honduras in November while traveling for Thanksgiving. The judge's ruling came after the Trump administration failed to provide a solution despite acknowledging the error. The United States===United States Department of Homeland Security stated that Lopez Belloza received 'full due process' and a final order of removal, but her lawyer, Todd Pomerleau, argued that the government failed to address simple solutions to rectify the mistaken deportation. Lopez Belloza, who has no criminal history, was detained at Boston's airport and deported two days later. She has been staying with her grandparents in Honduras, a country she had not visited in over a decade. Babson College has offered her support to continue her studies remotely.
