The acquisition of Adaptiv Networks by Scale Computing is expected to positively impact the edge computing and networking solutions market by offering integrated connectivity and edge platforms. This move addresses the growing demand for simplified operations across distributed sites and provides an alternative to rising virtualization costs from companies like VMware.
Scale Computing has agreed to acquire Adaptiv Networks, a Canadian provider of cloud-native software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) and secure access service edge (SASE) technology. This strategic acquisition aims to broaden Scale Computing's managed network portfolio and enhance its edge computing strategy. The deal will integrate Adaptiv Networks' SD-WAN and SASE capabilities into Scale Computing's SC//AcuVigil managed network services, providing built-in connectivity and centralized orchestration for distributed sites. William Morrow, CEO of Scale Computing, emphasized that the acquisition addresses the increasing demand from organizations with multiple locations requiring consistent application uptime. Bernard Breton, CEO of Adaptiv Networks, noted the shared focus on simplifying complex network environments. The combined entity will serve over 9,000 customers globally, strengthening Scale Computing's presence in Canada. This acquisition follows Scale Computing's earlier acquisition by Acumera in 2025, which led to Acumera adopting the Scale Computing name.
