The MoU between Bharat Electronics Limited and SASMOS HET Technologies Limited is expected to positively impact the Indian defence sector by strengthening indigenous manufacturing and supply chains. This collaboration could lead to increased competitiveness for Indian defence systems in both domestic and global markets.
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a state-run defence electronics company, and SASMOS HET Technologies Limited, an aerospace and defence interconnect solutions manufacturer, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to strengthen indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities in India by combining their expertise in defence electronics, system integration, and precision manufacturing. The collaboration will focus on localising critical components, increasing domestic value addition, and enhancing production capabilities and exports. The MoU also establishes a framework for joint participation in defence and strategic programs, covering high-reliability photonics, fibre optic systems, avionics, mission-critical electronic systems, aerospace-grade interconnect solutions, and electro-mechanical assemblies for various platforms. The initiative aligns with the Indian government's Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat visions.
