Lakurawa Militants Kill 33 in Kebbi

On February 18, 2025, suspected Lakurawa militants invaded Bui District in Arewa Local Government Area of Nigeria===Kebbi State, Nigeria, with the intent to rustle cattle. The assailants, believed to have crossed from Gudu Local Government Area in Nigeria===Sokoto State, confronted residents who mobilized in response to the intrusion. This fatal confrontation resulted in the deaths of 33 people. The Nigeria===Kebbi State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, has since reinforced security presence, deployed additional personnel, and initiated targeted operations to track and apprehend the perpetrators, while urging residents to report suspicious activities rather than engage directly with armed criminals.
