The India===Maharashtra government has requested a India===Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the plane crash that killed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others on January 28 near Baramati. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured a thorough investigation, involving the India===Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and state CID, to clear all doubts. India===Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Rohit Pawar raised allegations of foul play and questioned the VSR Company, which owned the Learjet 45 aircraft, and its purported links with Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. The DGCA is currently auditing VSR Company's logbooks. Deputy CMs Sunetra Pawar and Eknath Shinde were also present at the press conference where the CBI probe was announced.
