This partnership is expected to positively impact Nigeria's aviation and aerospace industries by fostering local talent and improving educational standards. It signals a growing trend of private-sector investment in technical education, which could reduce reliance on foreign expertise.
XEJet Limited and the University of Abuja have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the XEJet Centre for Aerospace & Space Engineering. This academic hub aims to advance aeronautical and astronautical engineering education in Nigeria and enhance the country's global aviation standing. The project, led by XEJet's Group CEO Emmanuel Iza and supported by University of Abuja's Dean Abdulfatai Jimoh, will be implemented in phases. Initially, XEJet will equip existing laboratories, followed by the design and funding of a permanent, green-powered academic complex. The initiative also includes XEJet offering automatic employment to top graduates for ten years, reinforcing industry relevance and rewarding academic excellence. The Nigeria===National Universities Commission and the Nigeria===Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria will be involved in accreditation and standards alignment.
