Philippines House Initiates Impeachment Against Sara Duterte

The House Committee on Justice in the Philippines has formally initiated deliberations on four verified impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte. The hearings, scheduled for March 2, 3, and 4, will first determine the sufficiency in form and substance of the complaints. Allegations against Sara Duterte include betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, misuse of P612.5 million in confidential funds, submission of fabricated reports to the Philippines===Commission on Audit, and alleged threats against Bongbong Marcos and his family. If the complaints pass the initial stages, Sara Duterte will be invited to respond, and further hearings will proceed, potentially leading to a Philippines===Senate of the Philippines trial if approved by the Philippines===House of Representatives of the Philippines.
