Rivers State Healthcare Sector Improvements

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Nigeria===Rivers State has announced significant achievements in the health sector over the past two and a half years. These include the revamping of health facilities, establishment of a health insurance scheme, and the employment of over 2,000 health workers. The administration has revived and expanded several abandoned zonal hospitals, such as those in Bori, Omoku, Ahoada, and Degema, with the Ahoada Zonal Hospital being a 105-bed secondary facility. Primary Healthcare Centres across Nigeria===Rivers State are also being prioritized, with 153 approved for remodeling. Mental health services have been introduced at the primary healthcare level to address economic hardship-related stress. At the tertiary level, the Intensive Care Unit of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital has been revamped with modern equipment. Additionally, over 400 staff of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital have been promoted, and an additional 500 recruited. Scholarships for Nigeria===Rivers State indigenes studying at PAMO University of Medical Sciences have increased from 100 to 150.
