India's Vice President Visits University of Kashmir

C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India, arrived in India===Srinagar for his maiden two-day visit to India===Jammu and Kashmir. He was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The primary purpose of his visit was to attend the 21st annual convocation ceremony of the University of Kashmir as the chief guest, where he delivered the convocation address and conferred degrees to 59,558 graduates. Extensive multi-layered security arrangements were implemented across India===Srinagar, particularly around the University of Kashmir campus, involving additional police and Central Armed Police Forces, intensified patrolling, and traffic diversions to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the high-profile event.
