Italy has announced it will issue 10,500 work visas to Pakistan's skilled labor force, following a meeting between Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi in Rome. This initiative aims to promote legal migration and strengthen bilateral cooperation. Additionally, Italy agreed to grant visa exemption to holders of Pakistani diplomatic passports. Both ministers also discussed enhancing cooperation in combating narcotics trafficking, human smuggling, and terrorism. Separately, Mohsin Naqvi met with Greek Minister for Migration and Asylum Thanos Plevris, where both sides agreed to increase legal migration and finalize a Migration Cooperation Agreement. These developments are seen as significant steps towards improving economic ties and structured migration channels for Pakistan.
