The Nigeria===National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) successfully rescued 184 suspected victims of human trafficking during recent raids in Nigeria===Plateau State, Nigeria. Among those rescued were three pregnant women, teenagers, and minors. Anne Felix, Acting Head of Counselling and Rehabilitation for NAPTIP Plateau Command, disclosed these figures during a quarterly meeting and validation workshop for Local Action Plans on Women, Peace and Security. NAPTIP has also secured convictions against some traffickers and intercepted another group of victims being trafficked to Nigeria===Akure. Five of the rescued individuals are currently undergoing rehabilitation. The workshop, attended by stakeholders including Sesan Peter from the University of Jos and Lantana Bako Abdullahi of the Women for Positive Peacebuilding Initiative, focused on strengthening women's protection and participation in peacebuilding, with support from the United Kingdom===Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Tetra Tech International Development.
