This collaboration between VAST Data and Nvidia is expected to significantly boost the AI infrastructure market by providing a unified, accelerated data stack. It will likely drive demand for Nvidia's GPUs and VAST Data's software, potentially increasing stock prices for Nvidia, Cisco, and Supermicro due to enhanced product offerings and market reach.
At VAST Forward 2026, VAST Data announced an expanded collaboration with Nvidia to deliver an end-to-end, fully CUDA accelerated AI data stack. The new VAST CNode-X servers will run the VAST AI Operating System directly on Nvidia-powered servers, aiming to eliminate data bottlenecks and simplify AI infrastructure. This architectural shift enables VAST Data to orchestrate AI pipelines, high-performance analytics, vector search, RAG functions, and agent runtimes as a single, unified software stack. The VAST AI OS will leverage various Nvidia software libraries and APIs, including Nvidia cuDF for GPU-accelerated SQL execution, Nvidia cuVS for accelerated vector search, Nvidia Nemotron Models and Nvidia NIM Microservices for scalable DataEngine pipelines, and Nvidia CMX for accelerated inference. VAST Data plans to bring CNode-X servers to market through OEM partners like Cisco and Supermicro, providing a faster and more supportable path to production AI.
