HCLTech and IIT Kanpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on converting cutting-edge research into real-world pilots and scalable solutions for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The partnership focuses on advanced engineering and deep tech, including AI, robotics, and next-generation technologies. This initiative aims to position HCLTech as a trusted GCC partner for research-led innovation, combining HCLTech's comprehensive GCC solutions with IIT Kanpur's research and startup ecosystem. The collaboration will help GCCs accelerate complex research, access niche skills without building internal labs, and reduce time-to-market. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, highlighted the institute's expertise and the benefits for researchers, while Kiran Cherukuri, EVP and Global GCC Practice Head at HCLTech, emphasized the role of deep tech ecosystems in GCC growth. The MoU was announced at the 'GCC 4.0: Co-Creating India's Innovation Powerhouse' summit in Hyderabad.
