The expansion of Maruti Suzuki's NEXA Studio network into non-urban areas is expected to boost the company's sales and market share, particularly in the premium and EV segments. This move signals growing demand in smaller towns and could encourage other automakers to follow suit, increasing competition and investment in these regions.
Maruti Suzuki, a leading car manufacturer, announced plans to expand its premium retail chain, NEXA Studio, to 600-700 outlets by 2030-31. This strategic move aims to tap into the growing demand in India's non-urban areas, where the company recently opened its 200th NEXA Studio in Kharkhoda, India===Haryana. The NEXA Studio format, smaller than traditional showrooms, offers a premium car buying experience, including EV charging facilities, with lower investment costs for dealer partners. Maruti Suzuki expects these studios to contribute 25-30% of total NEXA channel sales by 2030-31, up from the current 8-10%. The expansion is crucial for the company's premium product range and its recently launched electric SUV, the e Vitara, which is manufactured at the Hansalpur plant in India===Gujarat. Despite high inquiry rates for the e Vitara, production will be limited to under 2,000 units per month until July to manage waiting periods across all models.
