This event marks a crucial step in India's semiconductor manufacturing journey, with the commencement of commercial production and shipment of 'Made-in-India' semiconductor memory modules. The project, the first approved under the India===India Semiconductor Mission, involved an investment exceeding Rs 22,500 crore. The Sanand facility, once fully operational, will be one of the world's largest raised-floor cleanrooms, converting DRAM and NAND semiconductor wafers into finished memory and storage products for global customers, particularly those in Artificial Intelligence and high-performance computing sectors. This development aligns with Prime Minister Modi's vision of building a self-reliant technology ecosystem in India.
