Nigeria's National Gas Infrastructure Command Centre PPP

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigeria===Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission to implement the Federal Government's Nigeria===National Gas Infrastructure Command Centre (NGCC) strictly under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. This directive mandates zero public funding and no contingent liability to the government, emphasizing fiscal discipline and private-sector-led infrastructure development. The NGCC, conceived as a strategic national platform, will provide real-time monitoring and coordination of Nigeria's gas infrastructure, aiming to strengthen emergency response management and enhance transparency. Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, Director-General of the Nigeria===Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, confirmed that the commission will ensure strict adherence to presidential approval and established PPP procedures. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, inaugurated the Project Steering Committee and Joint Technical Working Group, which include representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Gas), the Nigeria===Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation===NNPC Limited, and the Nigeria===Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, along with the private project promoter. This initiative aligns with Nigeria's broader strategy to reposition its gas sector as a key driver of economic growth and industrialization.
