India's white-collar job market experienced its strongest February performance in recent years, with the Naukri JobSpeak Index rising 12% year-on-year to 3,233 points. This growth was driven by a recovery in the IT sector, which saw a 6% year-on-year increase in hiring, and a significant surge in AI/ML roles, up 49% overall. Indian multinational companies (MNCs) were key drivers, expanding overall hiring by 24% and AI/ML hiring by 82%. Non-IT sectors like insurance, BPO/ITES, real estate, hospitality/travel, and retail also contributed to the momentum. Fresher hiring grew 17% annually, and demand for high-value roles (above Rs 20 lakh per annum) increased by 23%.
