The market is impacted by increased costs for organizations relying on Microsoft's software and services, potentially leading to higher IT budgets. This could also drive demand for advisory services from firms like Info-Tech Research Group.
Microsoft has announced significant changes to its Enterprise Agreement pricing, effective November 1, 2025, and July 1, 2026. These changes include the collapse of tiered discount structures and double-digit price increases for various licenses such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, Teams Phone, CAL Suite, and server products. These adjustments are expected to increase renewal costs for many organizations, with former EA Levels B, C, and D facing pricing resets of approximately 6%, 9%, and up to 12% respectively. Unified Support agreements, being a percentage of licensing spend, will also see automatic increases. Info-Tech Research Group has released a report, 'Microsoft Year-End 2026', to guide IT and procurement leaders in navigating these changes and preparing for negotiations.
