China's CPPCC National Committee Annual Session Opens

The fourth session of the 14th China===Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, China's top political advisory body, opened its annual session in Beijing on March 4, 2026. Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with other leaders, attended the opening meeting at the Great Hall of the People. The agenda for the session was reviewed and approved. Wang Huning, chairman of the China===Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee. A report on the handling of 5,061 accepted proposals from political advisors since March 2025 was also presented, with a response rate of 99.9 percent. Shi Taifeng presided over the opening meeting, and He Baoxiang delivered the report on proposal handling.
