The launch of the Go-Homestay portal by India===Odisha is expected to positively impact the tourism and hospitality markets within the state. It aims to boost community-based tourism, empower local entrepreneurs, and provide new accommodation options, potentially increasing tourist footfall and revenue.
India===Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida launched the Go-Homestay portal, a dedicated online platform under the India===Odisha Homestays Establishment Scheme-2025. This initiative aims to promote community-based tourism, streamline homestay operations, and empower rural households, women, and local entrepreneurs. The portal will facilitate online applications, document uploads, tracking, approvals, visitor management, and compliance monitoring, ensuring transparency and ease of doing business. The launch coincided with a state-level workshop to sensitize stakeholders about the scheme's provisions and implementation, featuring presentations, a live demonstration of the portal, and insights from experts like Homestays of India and Svanir Wilderness Homestay. The India===Department of Tourism (Odisha) plans to open 450 homestays by March 2030 and will provide financial incentives.
