Oxford Student Praises India's NEP 2020

Jan Hubel, a master's student from the University of Oxford, lauded India's India===National Education Policy 2020 at the 61st session of the International===United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. He highlighted the policy's strong focus on vocational training and skill development, which he believes provides students with a practical foundation for the future and encourages entrepreneurial ambitions. Hubel observed the integration of vocational training at the Akshar Foundation in Guwahati, noting how practical competencies like business management and accounting were taught. He emphasized that these initiatives are transformative for disadvantaged students, equipping them with independence and economic navigation skills. Hubel compared India's approach to those in China===Hong Kong and Luxembourg, noting the distinctive emphasis on practical, hands-on projects. He also mentioned the comfort of students with modern technology, crucial for the global economy. Hubel believes these reforms can address youth unemployment and serve as an example for other countries in the Global South. He also delivered lectures at Banasthali Vidyapith.
