MP High Court Annuls Mukesh Malhotra's Election

The India===Madhya Pradesh High Court, Gwalior bench, declared the election of Congress MLA Mukesh Malhotra from the Vijaypur constituency as null and void. The court found Mukesh Malhotra guilty of corrupt practice for deliberately concealing information about pending criminal cases in his election affidavit during the 2024 by-poll. As a result, the India===Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ramniwas Rawat, who secured the second-highest number of votes, has been declared the elected MLA for the Vijaypur seat. This decision leads to a change in the political representation of the constituency and affects the strength of the India===Indian National Congress and India===Bharatiya Janata Party in the Madhya Pradesh assembly. The India===Indian National Congress plans to challenge this decision in the India===Supreme Court of India.
