The India===Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in India has directed oil refineries to increase Liquefied petroleum gas production and prioritize its distribution for domestic household use. This decision comes in response to geopolitical disruptions affecting global fuel supply chains and aims to ensure energy security for citizens. The ministry also introduced a 25-day inter-booking period for Liquefied petroleum gas cylinders to prevent hoarding and black marketing. Additionally, imported Liquefied petroleum gas supplies will be prioritized for essential non-domestic sectors like hospitals and educational institutions. A committee comprising executive directors from Petroleum industry has been formed to review Liquefied petroleum gas supply requests from other non-domestic sectors such as restaurants and hotels. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasized India's resilience in maintaining uninterrupted energy imports.
