AECOM, in collaboration with the Hong Kong===Civil Engineering and Development Department and the Hong Kong===Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the HKSAR Government, has supported the release of the Hong Kong Nature-based Solutions Design Guidelines (HKNbSDG). These guidelines, a first-of-their-kind, provide a practical blueprint for integrating nature-based solutions (NbS) into urban development projects across Hong Kong. The HKNbSDG aims to promote ecosystem diversity, human-nature coexistence, and improve resilience through NbS, aligning with Hong Kong's Climate Action Plan 2050 and biodiversity conservation targets. The official launch ceremony, held on March 3, 2026, at Long Valley Nature Park, was officiated by key government officials and included a panel discussion with representatives from entities like the International Union for Conservation of Nature, HSBC, and Swire Properties. This initiative is part of AECOM's broader mission to help cities adapt to climate risks and enhance quality of life.
